Reporting to the Ministère du tourisme, the Board of Directors is responsible for making sure the Palais is managed in compliance with the provisions of its constitution and by-laws.

Main applicable laws

As a public body, the Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal is subject to laws and regulations governing its activities and its functioning, some of which are listed below. Please note this is not a non-exhaustive list.


Transparency and access to information

In order to increase access to information and transparency, the Palais has followed up on the recommendations made by the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations (IGOPP) in its 2019 report on the governance of Québec Crown corporations.

Accordingly, the Board enacts regulations and approves the Palais’ main direction and policies related to its operations. In addition, the Board approves compensation standards and schedules and other terms and conditions of employment for management and non-unionized personnel within the parameters determined by the government.

The Board approves the Palais’ strategic plan, budgets, and annual financial statements. Many of these documents are available in the Publications section.
