On June 28, 2021, Montreal’s COVID-19 alert level was downgraded to green, or Level 1 (Level 1 – Vigilance). As a result, the following are now authorized at the Palais:

  • Maximum 250 people seated per room for corporate and business meetings (regardless of the type of meeting or attendees);
  • Consumer and trade shows are permitted, but in accordance with measures applicable to shopping centres and retail businesses.
  • Food and beverages services as per the measures applicable to restaurants;
  • Wearing a mask remains mandatory when moving around in the Palais; people who are seated quietly (or speaking softly) may remove their mask.
  • A social distancing of at least 1 metre must be maintained between people from a different private home or the equivalent. 
  • Filming is also authorized, as is the use of the Palais’ new studios.

A vaccine passport will be required for certain events at the Palais

Starting September 1, 2021, all delegates and participants attending events in the congress and confereces category at the Palais will be required to show a proof of vaccination against COVID-19, with a QR code showing their level of protection against COVID-19. You can show proof in one of three ways:

  • On paper
  • In a PDF document on your mobile device
  • On the VaxiCode application

Please note that photo ID will be required for all persons age 16 and over regardless of format. ID without photo will be accepted for people 75 and over and for Health Insurance Cards renewed during the pandemic.

Activities exempted from the application of the vaccine passport

Participants and visitors to events in the following categories do not need to present a proof of vaccination :

  • Fairs and exhibitions (although you must verify on the website of the organiser as some events may require a vaccine passport)
  • Examinations delivered by professional orders, educational establishments and the public sector
  • Arbitrations
  • Electoral activities (polling stations and counting of the ballots)

For travellers to Quebec

It will be a great pleasure to welcome you at the Palais des congrès again. People travelling to Québec must show photo ID and proof issued by their country or Canadian province that they have had two doses of one of the following recognized vaccines:

  • Pfizer
  • Moderna
  • AstraZeneca
  • Johnson & Johnson (only one dose required)
