A stimulating forum for discussion

The tenth edition of this gathering, entitled Confiance dans la science : une question de communication?, was held in hybrid format, enabling close to 300 specialists to come together from every region of Québec. The guest panelists addressed the principles of scientific teaching, followed by a discussion on how to maintain scientific credibility with a public whose attention is being solicited from a growing number of quarters, and initiatives to promote dialogue between science and society.

I wish to express my heartfelt congratulations to the winners, whose dedication to organizing major conferences helps to advance science, and encourages exchange between scientists and civil society. The views and discussions during this forum on trust in science and the role of scientific communication will surely be useful to the participants, and to the FRQ in its support for dialogue between science and society—a theme that’s increasingly addressed at our conferences.

Rémi Quirion, Chief Scientist of Québec

The Palais des congrès de Montréal is proud to support distinguished scientists from Québec, whose expertise and dedication pave the way to holding major international conferences in Montréal. The Palais buzzes yearlong with informal exchanges and conferences with experts from the world over, and serves as a sounding board for scientific communication, the dissemination of vital knowledge, the emergence of new ideas and the strengthening of the connection between science and society. I wish to warmly congratulate the bursary winners, and to thank them for their contribution to promoting Montréal and Québec as innovation hubs all around the world.
