The Palais des congrès de Montréal is pleased to announce the opening of a Marché Saint-Laurent boutique in its shopping mall. The hybrid concept—between a trendy café and a showcase for Québec crafts—celebrates local creativity and offers international business tourists as well as Montrealers a unique experience that combines design, culture and local flavours. This opening is a testament to the common goal of the Palais and Marché Saint-Laurent to celebrate Montréal’s style and personality among as many people as possible.

After the success of the first boutique, opened in Old Montréal in June 2022, Marché Saint-Laurent is pursuing its mission of offering tourists and the local community products that encapsulates Québec culture, through a selection items carefully chosen for their quality, originality and responsible manufacturing. Highlighting Québec creative talents, the Palais’ modern and inspiring space promises an authentic, discovery-filled experience.

Celebrating Montréal’s style and personality

The partnership between the Palais des congrès de Montréal and Marché Saint-Laurent reflects a shared desire to celebrate and promote local knowhow. Strategically located in the Palais’ shopping mall, at the Place-d’Armes metro exit, the boutique is a colourful and welcoming island in the heart of the Palais’ effervescence, in amongst events of all kinds, business tourists and locals. Business travellers, often on the lookout for authentic souvenirs, will discover original and responsible products that capture Montréal. Montrealers will find original ideas for gifts or for more day-to-day items that inspire wellbeing, with an evolving selection of articles adapted to the seasons and to events hosted at the Palais.

A unique and local experience

Celebrating talent, quality and shared common values, Marché Saint-Laurent surrounds itself with handpicked collaborators, including Jungle for coffee, Olivier Potier for pastries, Barbara Jacques for design objects, and Pony for clothes, accessories and a special collaboration for an exclusive maple syrup. Art works, such as Whatisadam’s colourful pop mural, round out the boutique’s dynamic and welcoming ambience.

A reflection of Montréal’s soul, this concept is the brainchild of Florence Girod, a marketing, communications and tourism specialist for more than 30 years, and her husband, Olivier Miotto, owner of Suite 105 salon by Glam in Old Montréal for 20 years. Together, their vision is to make Marché Saint-Laurent not just a boutique but a lively space that gives pride of place to the richness of Québec culture and the talent of local craftspeople and designers.

Marché Saint-Laurent promotes what’s unique about Montréal: its creative talent, vibrant culture and exceptional savoir-faire. By welcoming this new boutique at the Palais des congrès, we’re strengthening our commitment to providing our visitors—from here and abroad—with an authentic and inspiring experience and embodying our mission of celebrating Montréal’s style and personality in all its forms. By building these ties between local culture and international promotion, we’re truly celebrating the essence of Montréal.

Emmanuelle Legault, President and CEO of the Palais des congrès de Montréal

It was natural for us to set up in the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The quality and diversity of the events that are held there make it a veritable hub where Montrealers and international business travellers gather. This effervescence perfectly reflects our mission: to showcase Montréal’s creative culture through responsibly designed and manufactured products, offering visitors an authentic experience that captures our city’s unique history.
