LUMINO 2025: The Palais hosts a celestial work in front of its emblematic glass facade

L'oeuvre Celestia devant la verrière du Palais des congrès de Montréal

For a second year in a row, the Palais des congrès de Montréal is delighted to be part of LUMINO, a free and luminous winter event presented by Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles, from November 27, 2025 to March 6, 2026*. This collaboration reaffirms the Palais’ desire to showcase Montréal’s style and personality to visitors and contribute to the city’s cultural life, through an immersive experience in the heart of the winter

Throughout LUMINO, the Palais is hosting Celestia, a captivating installation designed by the Montréal studio Kleis, created in collaboration with Carolanne Foucher (Québec author and poet), Jérôme Guilleaume (sound designer) and Yolande Okia Picard (Huron-Wendat storyteller and writer). This fascinating work is exhibited in front of the Palais’ emblematic colourful glass facade, at the corner of Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle and Saint-Antoine Street West.

Celestia: A luminous immersion in front of the Palais

Celestia transforms the site into a magical space where light, sound and poetry converge. This artistic installation invites the public to enjoy an immersive experience that moves to the rhythm of their interactions with it.

The work is composed of seven interactive modules inspired by the stars in the Pleiades constellation and the seven sisters of the Greek myth. Each module responds to the public’s presence: the light adjusts, the sound textures morph, and fragments of stories emerge, mixing Greek mythology with First Nations legends. As the number of interactions increases, the light and soundscape intensify, creating new artistic combinations and a continuously changing, living tableau.

Celestia is an original collaboration between the four Canadian cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, based on the specific disciplines of each one: Québec City (literature), Montréal (design), Toronto (digital arts) and London (music). After its inaugural presentation in Québec City in 2024, and then in Toronto and London in 2025, Celestia is arriving for the first time in Montréal as part of LUMINO. The work can be experienced at its height from sundown to 11 p.m.
