The Palais’ security team is available 24/7. The Security Operation Centre, located on Level 1 in the shopping mall, is linked to the sentries on the ground and the entire security system at all times.

Electricity

Is electricity billed hourly or daily?

Electricity is included in the price when ordering electrical outlets. It is supplied continuously, 24 hours a day, for the full duration of the event, without additional costs.

What is the layout of the electrical outlets, sinks and other plumbing equipment in my booth?

You must provide a detailed plan of the location of your electrical outlets, sinks and other plumbing equipment when you place your order. The plan must indicate the positioning of your booth as well as the location of the adjacent booths. Any subsequent changes or displacement of the original electrical or plumbing installation could come with additional labour costs.  

Are there additional costs for installing electrical outlets?

No. The labour required to install electrical outlets is included in the price for the number of electrical outlets you order.

I have European equipment. Must I provide adaptors?

→ For standard equipment (e.g., laptops or phones): Yes, you must provide adaptors.
→ For non-standard equipment: No, you must rent an adaptor or a transformer from the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

Can I share my electricity?

No. Power sharing or redistribution is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether you ordered the electrical services for yourself or on behalf of another exhibitor.

Can I plug in more than one device in a single electrical outlet?

Yes, provided that the outlet’s maximum capacity is not exceeded. The Palais des congrès offers two types of standard outlets:
→  15 A / 120 V / 1 500 watt (equivalent to one household wall socket)
20 A / 120 V / 1 phase

You can plug in several devices provided that their total consumption does not exceed the outlet’s capacity (in watts). To check it, add the power (in watts) of all the devices and lights that you wish to plug in.
Make sure to check the device’s nameplate for the technical specifications (current, voltage, intensity, phase).

Do the electricity, plumbing and Internet rates cover the full duration of the event?

Yes. These rates are valid for the entire duration of the event, from the set-up to the dismantling phase.  

Plumbing

Are plumbing services available throughout the Palais des congrès?

No. Water and air supplies are only available on the second floor through our channels and ports.

Do I have to provide my own plumbing hookups?

No. We provide the basic hookup with the service you ordered. If you need special hookups or multiple connections, additional costs will apply.  

Can I supply my own tub/tank or sink?

Yes. However, the water hookup and the drain must be ordered separately.

Security

Will the material and equipment in my booth be safe?

The Palais des congrès de Montréal generally patrols and monitors the building, but you are responsible for the security of the material and equipment in your booth. It is therefore your responsibility to protect your property, especially valuable items.

However, the rooms are locked outside of event hours (in the evening and overnight) and accessible only to Palais staff.  

If you have valuable items that require additional surveillance, you can hire a personalized security service. This service is available on the Exhibitor Order Portal, for a minimum of 4 hours’ surveillance a day. The request must be made at least 24 hours ahead of time.  

Housekeeping

What does the housekeeping cover?

Housekeeping includes vacuuming carpets or dust mopping, as well as removing trash. This service is provided prior to opening day and on the dates specified in your order.

Can you handle my specific housekeeping requirements?

Yes. Simply email the Exhibitor Service Centre at [email protected] to get a quote.

Orders

Can I place an order by phone or by email?

No. All orders and payment must be done on the Exhibitor Order Portal. For security reasons, an authorized signature is required, and we do not accept credit card information over the phone.  

Do I automatically receive a confirmation when I place my order?

Yes. A confirmation will automatically be sent to you by email once your order has been validated.

What is your reimbursement policy?

→ Cancellation up to 48 hours prior to setting up your booth: no fees.
→ Cancellation within 48 hours prior to setting up your booth: 50% of the invoiced amount.
→ Cancellation onsite: no reimbursement.
→ Services provided but not used during the event: no reimbursement.
All claims must be submitted before the closing of the event in order to considered.

Other

Is there a service centre onsite to answer my questions or make changes?  

Yes. Our Exhibitor Service Centre, located at the unloading dock on Level 2, is open during most set-up days.  

Is there access to free Wi-Fi?

Yes. A free Wi-Fi connection is provided in the shopping promenade and on the ground floor.

What does a pressure regulator do for compressed air?

The regulator decreases the pressure in the compressor for equipment that does not have a built-in regulator.

Can you provide lifting equipment for setting up my booth?

Yes. Simply email the Exhibitor Service Centre at [email protected] to get a quote.

How to I determine if I will need a forklift?

Forklifts are used for transporting bulky items, such as crates or containers. For smaller items, the Palais can provide you with a complimentary trolley.

Can I deliver my crates or boxes to the Palais des congrès before the event?

No. The Palais des congrès de Montréal does not accept any shipments delivered prior to the date and time scheduled for the set-up of your event. The Palais de congrès disclaims all responsibility for any material shipped or left onsite.
