Contributions of the biometric approach to the evaluation of participant’s experience

In a rapidly changing industry, anticipating, understanding and improving the participant experience is becoming a central issue in event planning. Beyond surveys and other direct observations, methods that suffer from certain biases, what could be more relevant than going to the source of information: in the heart and head of the participant?

This is what RE-AK Technologies provides. By adopting a biometric approach, the Montreal-based company and member of the Palais des congrès’ Event Lab, evaluates the emotional and cognitive feelings of event participants. Brain waves, skin reaction, heart rate and facial muscle expressions are among the biosignals analyzed which, combined with a geolocation system, allow to deduce the sensory perception and the emotional state of the participant at each point and moment of his or her visit experience.
