CAEH25: Meeting with the Executive Director of the Mouvement pour mettre fin à l'itinérance à Montréal (Movement to End Homelessness in Montréal)

CAEH - Express interview

The annual National Conference on Ending Homelessness (CAEH25), the 2025 edition of which was held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal from October 28 to 30, brings together the main players in the fight against homelessness in Canada. For this Montréal gathering, the Mouvement pour mettre fin à l’itinérance à Montréal (MMFIM – Movement to End Homelessness in Montréal) served as the local host committee for the event. The MMFIM plays a key role in mobilizing community, institutional and private players to prevent and eliminate homelessness in Montréal, through a collaborative approach and partnerships grounded in the field.

The Palais des congrès’ commitment as a participant on the advisory committee of the MMFIM—and the CAEH25 host committee—is among the many ways the organization expresses its desire to work concretely to promote social dialogue and harmonious

cohabitation in its downtown neighbourhood, where residents, workers, visitors and people in vulnerable situations rub shoulders every day.

In an interview with the Palais’ team, Michèle Chappaz, Executive Director of the MMFIM, talks about the significance of CAEH25, the homelessness situation in Montréal, and the importance of collective mobilization in advancing the national dialogue on this issue.
