Winter and spring buzzed with activity, pledges and new enriching partnerships that reflected the Palais’ desire to focus attention on Montréal creativity and innovation, and in the process shine the spotlight on the city’s artistic, scientific and business talent. More than ever before, we are playing an active role in dynamizing Montréal and tangibly adding to its appeal for organizers who choose our city and its convention centre for their major events. And our heads are still teeming with ideas!

Among the pledges we’ve embraced and value dearly is our ongoing pursuit of sustainability. We firmly believe it is imperative we create healthy living conditions and spaces that are mindful of the environment, for everyone: Montréalers, people visiting the Palais or attending events, as well as our employees.

We’ve announced numerous initiatives in this regard, starting with us joining the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, an international framework that will form the foundation for our many sustainability actions.

The rest of this newsletter awaits and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about the new projects our teams worked on in spring. Summer promises to be just as lively, so stay tuned!

Les Printemps du Palais

Last April, the convention centre rolled out a lineup of art- and design-driven experiences, all by Québec creatives, spanning ephemeral art fashioned by local artists, coworking spaces imagined by Montréalers, and interactive installations that added verve to the Palais.

Good news! The inaugural edition of Les Printemps du Palais was so popular, the event is being expanded into a year-round affair! Renamed The Palais Seasons, it’ll be non-stop surprises for people visiting the Palais.

The Palais self-serve libraries

We’ve added to the family of libraries introduced within Les Printemps au Palais. There are now five self-serve libraries open to Montréalers and event participants, promising a world of knowledge, entertainment and discovery. The system of bringing in a book and swapping it for another appears to be a hit with users. And our libraries’ inventory has grown, thanks to titles donated via a very special collaboration with the organization Culture à partager, with which we share a love of protecting the environment by reusing books.
