Civil society community assembles in Montréal for Civicus and Ecocity

Over 2,500 delegates recently descended on the Palais des congrès de Montréal to debate societal issues during the Civicus World Assembly, from September 10 to 12, and the August 22-26 Ecocity World Summit, which was presented for the first time in a Canadian city.

The Palais is proud to have hosted both of these international events attended by representatives from civil society, governments, the private sector and donors engaged in finding common solutions to the challenges facing Montréal and the rest of the world. The topics headlining the list of activities included urban planning, urban agriculture, governance, climate change, the economy, social justice and citizenship.

We should mention the exceptional support the events received from Jayne Engle-Warnick and Luc Rabouin, appointed to the Ambassadors Club in 2010 for organizing the Ecocity World Summit, and Michel Venne, Ambassador for the Civicus World Assembly.
